Laminated Visuals is a manufacturer of laminated images, plaque mounted on fiberboard, as an alternative to custom framing. This high quality process consists of protecting an image, newspaper or poster with an antireflective film and permanently bonding it to the 3/8" thick medium density fiberboard (MDF). The edges are beveled and finished in a variety of colors. A groove is specially cut in the back for easy hanging.
Our fiberboard plaques are attractive, economical and ready to hang. They can be transported and shipped easily because the finished product is well packaged with styrofoam and contains no glass.
Our most popular and unique products are laminated and plaque mounted authentic newspaper articles. It takes 30 to 60 minutes to prepare a newspaper for the laminating process, removing creases and print imperfections. The finished product often looks more like a poster than an original newsprint. These newspapers are also enhanced with a colored paper mat. Limited quantities are available.
We recently partnered with several reputable framing companies to offer some of our posters in a frame. It allows us to offer more variety and reduce our inventory. Each print is mounted and backed with foam board, to eliminate waviness and warping, and is professionally assembled. Quality materials and clear glass are used, instead of acrylic which can scratch and discolor over time. It is harder and more costly to ship heavier and more fragile framed pictures assembled with glass but they attribute their success to their packaging and experience accumulated after several years.
