This panoramic photograph captures the University of Wisconsin Badgers football team playing on their home field at Camp Randall Stadium. The first Badger football team took the field in 1889 and upon formation of the Big Ten conference in 1896, they became the first-ever conference champion. The team's nickname originates in Wisconsin's early history, when miners came to the state looking for minerals but without shelter in the winter, they had to live like badgers in tunnels burrowed into hillsides. As a result, the territory was dubbed the Badger State, and the team took its name from that. The Badgers success includes numerous conference championships and Rose Bowl victories. Measures 13 in. x 40 in. This print is protected from dirt and moisture with an antireflective UV filtering film. It is mounted on a 3/8 in. wood fiberboard. No frame required!
